KEEP CALM AND GO TO BEACH

A trip to Chennai is never complete without visiting Marina Beach Chennai.

The mystical city of Chennai offers quaint churches, relaxing beaches, striking temples, inspiring art center and tempting cuisines that satiate the quest of almost every traveller.  Apart from being noted as the worlds second longest beach, it has also witnessed incidents like the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and 2017 pro-Jallikattu protests. It is also the venue for festivals and events like Vinayaka Chathurthi, Independence day and Marathons.

My last few days in Chennai saw me exploring the city and going to places where I had always thought of going but never actually did. So today I went to Marina Beach, the third longest beach in the world and the largest in Asia. Of all the beaches in Chennai, it happens to be the most dynamic and hence the most well known.

I visited Marina beach in the late afternoon with my friends when the sun was merciful.I enjoyed the beauty , cool, calm, salty sea breeze while walking in barefoot on the coarse golden sand. They say that see has a mind of its own. The local fisherfolk worship the sea as a goddess. The sea was very calm that day and the waves reached a height of only two feet. My friend Sara taunted the sea by calling out to it and asking challenging it to create bigger waves.

After a beautiful wave, the sea went back to its clam state with low waves. We also collected some seashells that were scattered on the seashore as keepsakes for every visit. Collecting seashell was one our favorite itinerary to do on beach.

After 6:00p.m we decided to go for a walk and do some window shopping . The Shop streets were filled with peoples which was a beautiful cite. Then we decided to play some games, which was the best and fun part.

Well it was a beautiful and fun place to hang out, take pictures and enjoy. It made me forget the scorching heat of Chennai with its cool breeze, caramel sands, beautiful wavy coastline and bubbling waves. A best timepass and a best hangout spot to visit ,so gather your friends, grab your sunblock and come on....the sea is calling!!!!
